I am reviewing user feedback for the user research project, going through the feedback that we gathered months ago in HackMD, identifying additional use cases, and integrating this information into our new user research collection in Mathesar.

I’ve made a minor adjustment to the design of the installation admin user creation flow.

Based on my personal experience using Mathesar for the user research project, I’m compiling a set of recommendations to enhance its functionality and usability. Once complete, I plan to share this with the rest of the team.

Current Focus:

  • Identifying potential niches, associated use cases, and stakeholders.
  • Conducting research into these niches.
  • Continually refining and developing user personas.

I’ve continued work on the use cases table. I’ve been digging into the different stakeholders and understanding their needs, capturing goals and pain points from various sources. I’ve also been preparing the data and insights for the upcoming meeting with the team.

I continued working on the table. I also logged usability issues that I found and opened a GitHub issue to address a bug I encountered.

I’ve been exploring other similar products, gathering more use cases. This work has included redefining categories to ensure we have enough information for creating personas.

Had a meeting with Kriti to discuss the progress of our work.

Today, I’ve been gathering more use cases. Had a brief discussion with Mukesh regarding the Installation project.

Added new use cases and collected more template examples. I also had discussions regarding new projects that require design support and responded to Make column type inference optional

Today, I’ve been working on the use cases. Specifically, I have added a stakeholders column and included new cases. I’ve conducted additional online research as well.

Kriti and I had a meeting to review the current status of our work. We identified next steps during our discussion.

One of these steps includes a plan to increase our use case data volume (before analysis). This will enable everyone to conduct their own analysis.

Similar to yesterday, I continued work on the table and had a review with Kriti. We agreed that it is important to identify both the stakeholders and the actors for each use case to ensure we serve the right audience when developing them. Also, I have been noting down usability issues as I experience working with Mathesar.

I have been working on setting up a Mathesar schema to capture all the different use cases. For each one I review, I am adding the needed features. Additionally, I examined the Freshdesk tickets to identify new use cases.

Yesterday, I identified a variety of use cases from the Syften posts that contained keywords we were tracking. I then transformed these into a set of structured use cases.

Following this, I reviewed them with Kriti and we collectively decided on our next steps. Our upcoming task is to aggregate all the identified information into these use cases. The goal is to understand what’s blocking Mathesar from serving these users effectively.

At this stage, we aren’t making any decisions about which use cases to work on. However, the intention is to generate a broad map of what’s out there in terms of competing solutions. This will aid us in understanding where we are best suited to fill out those gaps.

I’ve gone through Syften notifications, reading through the different posts extracting user needs. Started categorizing them and will now focus in different use cases.

I am continuining work with the research project, which basically involves going through freshdesk and capturing any relevant feeedback, categorizing it and finding patterns.

Had a call with Kriti to define the goals and deliverables for the user research project.

In preparation for the user feedback project I am going through all the unread Freshdesk tickets and collecting the different user needs into a document.
